My theme for my ceramics projects was simple. No theme! In life you have the option to choose what you want to become but you can't predict what will happen in the future. Whenever I made a project I had an idea of what I wanted to make. Sometimes it turned out how I planned and then others it was nothing like I imagined it to be. For me I believe you learn from your mistakes and grow from your experiences. I will always remember the time I wanted to make a cup but I made the base too thin and it fell through. So I ended up making one of my favorite projects. I created "chip" from beauty and the beast. I have learned so much this semester from throwing big bowls to making plates and lids. I have also been introduced into new glazing techniques. Raku is by far my favorite but I have used various methods such as splatter, drip, dip, and sponging. Over this past semester I have made many projects, some for myself but mostly for others. It is the best feeling knowing that my hard work can be appreciated with a simple thank you or smile. To me that is what art is about is being able to express yourself in a way that others are able to understand, any maybe have a different perspective on it. Art is whatever you make it to be and it cannot be labeled with a theme.
